Leeds City Council , Director of City Development
Martin Farrington has worked in Local Government for over 25 years and is the Director of City Development at Leeds City Council. Responsibilities include the physical, economic and cultural development of the city. In 2014 he was awarded Property Personality of the Year at the Yorkshire Property Awards and is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
Recent work has included overseeing proposals for Leeds South Bank, development of Sovereign Square, delivery of the First Direct Arena and the Council’s support for the Victoria Gate Scheme which delivered a new John Lewis to Leeds, subsequently awarded best new shopping centre at MIPIM 2017.
